Daniel Ricciardo, a 33-year-old Italian-Australian racer, has not revealed any further details about her departure, and there has been no official word on his next potential team since leaving McLaren Racing.
Although the details of Ricciardo’s departure are unknown, he is free to join another team and has stated his desire to remain in Formula One. “It’s been an honor to be a part of the McLaren Racing family for the last two years,” he said.
Ricciardo was a high-profile signing for McLaren in 2021 after making a name for himself at the front of the pack at Red Bull and then becoming the team captain of Renault.
Lando Norris, a young English racer, outclassed him with his victory in the Italian GP last year, which served as the pinnacle of his career. As a result, McLaren CEO Zak Brown hinted at Ricciardo’s departure the previous year.
He did have a contract through 2023 after signing a three-year contract when he first joined the club. Ricciardo had been adamant about staying, even posting a statement on social media in July, before the Alpine-Piastri saga began.
However, a remarkable transfer story accelerated his departure when he had a poor performance on the track. McLaren thanks Daniel for his dedication and contributions, which included that memorable victory in Monza.
