Madison Keys was born on February 17, 1995, in Rock Island, Illinois, one of the Quad Cities. She was born to her parents, Rick and Christine, both of whom are lawyers. Her mother, on the other hand, is now retired.
Rick Keys was a Division III All-American while playing collegiate basketball at Augustana College. Rick appears to be calm when it comes to his daughter’s professional life. In fact, he spent the majority of his time at Rock Island to support Madison’s desire.
Madison is multiracial due to her parents’ racial backgrounds: her father is African-American and her mother is European-American.
She gave an interview to the New York Times in 2015 where she stated that she would rather be known for who she is than for her race, though. She declared that she does not consider herself to be white or African-American, but just Madison.
The professional tennis player represents Fearlessly Girl, an organization dedicated to combating bullying and cyberbullying, with a focus on high school girls. She co-founded the organization with Kate Whitfield, and the first summit was held in Rock Island, Illinois.
Madison also relaunched Fearlessly Girl in February 2020 as a charitable foundation called Kindness Wins. The group was then dubbed a kindness platform, emphasizing kindness to oneself and others in times of adversity. She hopes to work with other organizations that share her goals in order to give grants and support to people who are making the world a better place.
