In January  2019, he had another strong performance against Clemson, with 25 points, and 10 rebounds. Later on, Williamson earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors for a second time. Furthermore, in January, he posted 30 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in an 87–65 win over Wake Forest.

In the second half of their senior year, Williamson made an average of 36.4 points, and 11.4 rebounds with 3.5 assists per game. Likewise, his team won a match with ‘Hammond School’, ‘Asherville Christian Academy’, and ‘Greensboro Day School’. However, unfortunately, his team lost to Christ School and Chino Hills High School. Likewise, in early 2018, his team led the third consecutive victory in the ‘SCISA Region I-2A championship defeating ‘Trinity Collegiate School’.

In the same year, he also participated in the 2018 ‘McDonald’s All-American Game’. With this, he got acceptance from Duke University on a basketball scholarship offer under the guidance of the legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. Moreover, he was one of his top three recruits.

Professional Career at the New Orleans Pelicans

Williamson started his professional career on June 20, 2019. The NBA team New Orleans Pelicans drafted Williamson on the first pick in the 2019 NBA draft. In July 2019, Williamson officially signed with the Pelicans. Unfortunately, he tore his meniscus on October 13, 2019, during the preseason of his rookie campaign.
