A ‘hidden gem’ on Bargain Hunt has made a staggering profit on a watch, provoking a shocked reaction from antiques expert Raj Bisram.

Nathalie and Karl – who were on the red team up against Adam and Jemma on the blue team – had been given the job of finding a profitable fashion accessory.

Meanwhile, the blue team were required to find and make a profit on an item with a Chinese theme.

It took both teams a mere 20 minutes to find two items, giving them 40 minutes to find what they would acquire for their final purchase.

Antique expert Raj, 68, was impressed by their speed, enthusing: ‘This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had.

‘Twenty mins down, two items. It’s a walk in the park what else can I say.’

Although Natalie and Karl purchased a Swedish vase for £15, they clearly had their eyes on a bigger prize judging by their next purchase.

They followed it up by forking out £130 for a 1970s vintage Omega gentleman’s watch

Bringing proceedings to a close, they subsequently purchased a Clarice Cliff mustard pot for £20, despite it not containing a lid.

On the other team, Adam and Jemma’s main purchase saw them spend £80 on a military periscope.

Upon seeing the Omega watch, Tim gleefully labelled it the ‘height of fashion’, as Nathalie and Karl doubled their investment to earn £260 on their original £130 purchase.

Eric observed: ‘You doubled your money. Bought for £130, sold for £260. Good stuff, eh?’

After selling off these items, Raj revealed their Bonus Buy – a set of bowls that bumped up Nathalie and Karl’s earnings by another £16.

This saw them accumulate an impressive £165 worth of profit by the time the show had drawn to a conclusion.
