Blue’s Duncan James was rushed back into hospital on Friday after an operation he underwent two weeks ago went a ‘little bit wrong’.

The singer, 46, took to Instagram from his hospital bed to explain that doctors were forced to correct the previous procedure, without giving further details.

Duncan said that the unplanned hospital admission meant he would now be forced to miss two gigs with his fellow bandmates, but hoped to soon be allowed to go home.

The singer wore a gown as he lay on the ward, telling followers: ‘Some of you may or may not know I had to go into hospital yesterday’

‘I was admitted to have a correction of a procedure that I had two weeks ago that went a little bit wrong. So I was rushed in and had it all fixed, I was kept in overnight and I’m just waiting to find out if I can go home today, fingers crossed’.

He continued’ ‘However, it does mean I won’t be able to attend the foodies festival today or the Hits Radio Live in Liverpool today which I’m gutted about because I really wanted to do that,’

‘But the doctors have told me I need to rest up, I need to heal, I need to make sure everything is good where it should be good.

Duncan finished by saying: ‘So I just want to say I’m sorry if I’ve let anyone down, I am on the mend, I am getting better.’

Fans rushed to the comments section to wish him a speedy recovery writing: ‘Get well soon Duncan’: ‘Take care’: ‘Get well soon’: ‘Get well soon babes’: ‘Sending lots of love Duncan’: ‘Hope you’re okay D, get well soon’.

It comes after the  real reason Duncan underwent another facial treatment last year was revealed after he was accused of ‘excessive’ beauty procedures by fans.

The singer took to Instagram in December to share a video of himself getting a non-invasive BYONIK cellular rejuvenation treatment at Re-Skin clinic.

After giving fans an insight into the treatment, Duncan was hit by backlash from fans to urged him to ‘leave his face alone’ and not get carried away.

However, Rebecca Elsdon – who owns the South Sheffield clinic and treated Duncan – has revealed the reason why Duncan underwent the non-surgical treatment.

She explained how the treatment is used to treat problematic skin conditions, after Duncan told how the laser helps reduce any inflammation caused by his rosacea.

Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that mainly affects the face and causes certain facial blood vessels to enlarge, giving the cheeks and nose a flushed appearance.

Skin expert Rebecca – who specialises in treatments for acne, pigmentation, rosacea and other skin conditions – explained how the BYONIK treatment helps to ‘boost the skin’s immunity’ and improves ‘skin health’.

She told MailOnline: ‘As a leading expert for problematic skin conditions, Duncan came to me with concerns regarding his Rosacea.
