Fern Britton will reveal who she thinks is the biggest snake in the house on Monday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

A twist in the game will play out on the new episode as Big Brother calls for one Housemate to go to the diary room during the St Patrick’s Day festivities. Colson is quick to nominate Fern to go, saying: ‘you’re the only one I trust’.

As she enters the diary room, Fern finds a pot of gold on the diary room chair with a red toy snake on top. Big Brother tells her: ‘Fern you’ve just found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.’

‘That means you’ve been granted one wish, the biggest wish of all. You must choose one housemate to be evicted.’

‘St Patrick famously banished the snakes from Ireland, and now by finding the pot of gold, you have been selected to banish a Housemate.’

To select the Housemate she would like to evict, Fern is told she has to secretly place the red snake on their pillow.

Later housemates are relaxing in the bedroom, and are told: ‘It appears St Patrick hasn’t driven out all the snakes… there is a slivery intruder in the bedroom, housemates must find it now.’

As the housemates run around the bedroom searching for the intruder, who will be surprised with a snake on their pillow?

Viewers were left unimpressed by yet another ‘stupid twist’ after the snake task was first announced by host AJ Odudu on Sunday’s spin-off Late and Live.

The ITV reboot has seen a whole host of surprises, most recently seeing Nikita Kuzmin forced to put himself up for eviction, but fans took to X, formerly Twitter, following the latest with twist declaring: ‘Please make it stop!’.

During Late and Live viewers were shown a clip of Fern as she was called into the diary room.

AJ, who admitted she had no idea of the twist, went on to reveal that Big Brother had lied to the former This Morning host.

Telling viewers: ‘What Fern didn’t know is that whichever housemate she selects will actually have the luck of the Irish on their side’.

‘They wouldn’t be evicted, they wouldn’t even face eviction, instead that housemate would be granted full nomination immunity and granted a place in Friday’s final!’.

Taking to social media another fan said:’Big brother are really the best at ruining their own show with stupid twists’.

While another typed: ‘What is happening to Big Brother? Nomination twists, killer nominations, face-to-face nominations, revealing nominations, passes to the final…STOP’.

As someone else begged: ‘No more twists or nomination meddling’.

And: ‘Why are ITV trying to be Channel Five with stupid twists?’.

With another commenting: ‘I get this creates drama and heading grabbling plot twists… but I’m actually really disappointed in CBBUK for this. An Illogical plot twist that’s pointless at this point’.
