The rapper made his SNL hosting debut during season 49 in October 2023, where he used his opening monologue to discuss his excitement.

“My name is Benito and I’m so excited to be here on sábado, sorry SNL,” Bad Bunny quipped. “People [are] wondering if I can host this show because English is not my first language. I don’t know if they know, [but] I do whatever I want. So, I can host this show in English, I can order McDonald’s in English [and] I can have sex in English, but I prefer sex in Spanish because it’s better. I just prefer Spanish.”

Bad Bunny then enlisted surprise guest Pedro Pascal to help him “translate” the remainder of his opening remarks.

Bad Bunny later performed as the episode’s musical guest, and Lady Gaga even provided the introduction.
