A Love Island couple is torn apart during a shock re-coupling, leaving one Islander outraged when their partner is stolen.

Bombshell arrivals Konnor Ewudzi, 28, and Matilda Draper, 24, are given the chance to pick who they want to be with in Monday night’s show but the cast are left reeling by one of their bold choices.

The female Islanders have the power but in an unexpected turn of events a pair of contestants end up in a friendship couple while another with ‘unfinished business’ reconcile.

Joey Essex, 33, is currently coupled with former flame Grace Jackson, 25, while Welsh lovebirds Nicole Samuel, 24, and Ciaran Davies, 21, and Mimii Ngulube, 24, and Ayo Odukoya, 25, make up the stronger connections in the villa.

The re-coupling comes 24 hours after host Maya Jama oversaw the dumping of Tiffany Leighton, and Omar Nyame, both 25, who lost their places in the competition after their fellow Islanders gave them the boot.

A TV source told MailOnline: ‘One Islander was left absolutely fuming after their partner was stolen from them during the latest re-coupling.

‘It was completely out of the blue and the entire cast couldn’t believe the decision made by a contestant, who had put themselves out there to pursue their dream connection.

‘Another couple has reconciled after days apart, which isn’t ideal for another Islander, who is losing her patience after ending up in yet another friendship pairing.’

During Sunday night’s episode, Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint told each other they were still open to exploring their romantic connection.

The pair had been coupled up until Ronnie dedicated his time to Tiffany, who was dumped from the villa after she and the footballer received the fewest amount of votes from the public.

Viewers had been voting for their favourite couple, with former TOWIE star Joey left shocked when he and Grace were placed in the bottom three, making them vulnerable.

Contestants were also surprised by Harriett and partner Sean Stone’s popularity, after they were voted safe despite not being romantically involved.

Sean has been pursuing Matilda, who he passionately kisses for the first time in Monday evening’s show.

Samantha Kenny appeared on spin-off show Aftersun on Sunday night after Joey coupled up with her for two weeks before pursuing his connection with Grace

Former Islander Samantha Kenny was dumped last week after her love interest Joey ended their romance when his ex-Grace entered the villa.

The heartbroken star left without saying goodbye to Joey, refusing to make amends with the Essex heartthrob before leaving the show for good.

Speaking after her Love Island departure, Samantha said watching the series has been ‘horrendous’ and she believes Joey’s feelings for her were nonexistent.

She said: ‘He never liked me. I’m hurt… it has been horrendous watching it back.’
