Max George has made nearly £3,500 flogging his old clothes on Depop after joining the site at the beginning of this year.

The Wanted singer revealed in January he had joined the host of stars flogging designer clothes on the app amid a government crackdown on secondhand sellers.

And three months on, the musician has already made a profit of £3,500 as he flogs a selection of items from his expensive wardrobe and memorabilia from his touring days.

However there is plenty still up for grabs, with £12,000 of Max’s garments still unwanted, including some quirky bright orange Gucci boots and a whopping £4,000 for a Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Brown Jacket.

The Gucci x The North Face Men’s Orange Boots are on the site for £725, as Max describes them as ‘hardly worn’ and still in the box they were purchased in.

Meanwhile the designer jacket was worn in the cover art for The Wanted’s hit 2010 song All Time Low, as the listing reads: ‘Worn once, perfect condition, one of a kind piece’.

In a bid to shift the 53 remaining items of stock, Max has even reduced the price of some items after he decreased a £140 ‘excellent condition’ Off-White Men’s Jumper down to £126.

Among the 33 pieces of clothing the Strictly Come Dancing star has sold – for a total of £3,470 – is a Suitsupply Men’s Navy Jacket for £175 to fan Israel Monte.

It was listed as: ‘Memorabilia, pea coat worn in video for their 2021 hit Rule the World. Only wore this one time, lovely bit of kit.’

Pleased with his purchase, Israel said after snapping it up: ‘Amazing jacket, thanks Max.’

Meanwhile a Carhartt Men’s Tan and Cream Jacket was sold for £40 after Max slashed the price from originally being advertised at £50.

The description read: ‘Only worn for shoot, great condition, been in storage a while,’ and a happy fan replied: ‘Super fast shipping, item is perfect.’

Showcasing his impressive designer collection, he also sold a Kappa Men’s Blue and White Sweatshirt for £35.

Previously Max was also selling £700 Adidas X Gucci green sliders, which he described as being in ‘mint condition’.

A Boda Skins black jacket is selling for £600 which Max says is in an ‘amazing piece’ while Balenciaga multi trainers for £500 are ‘hardly worn’.

But Max could soon see a dent in his sales as HM Revenue and Customs introduce new laws.

The fresh rules introduced on January 1 mean online sellers who surpass a £1,000 threshold for the year must register as self-employed and will be expected to fill out a tax return form.

It won’t affect those who are already reporting their earnings to HMRC and people won’t need to declare earnings under £1,000.

Max joins a host of other celebrities using the site, including Katie Price, Georgia Toffolo and Frankie Bridge.

Katie puts her and her children’s clothes up for sale at modest prices with most items selling for less than £10 – including an orange jumper she bought from Sainsbury’s going for £4.

Made In Chelsea star Toff often models her own clothes on Depop with a snap of her in a skimpy red and black Boux avenue nightie helping her to flog it for £15.

According to the sold items listed on her account she has clawed in £4,421.

Former S Club Juniors singer Frankie Bridge shifted more than £10,000 worth of clothing of which all proceeds went to mental health charity Mind.

While Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams gave the proceeds from her £5,476.50 worth of sales to Mind, Cancer Research UK and the Dolphin Project.
