After a tumultuous few months at TCM, the network’s Classic Film Festival will return to Hollywood on April 18-21 for its 15th edition with the theme “Most Wanted: Crime and Justice in Film,” it was announced Wednesday.

“Like Turner Classic Movies itself, the TCM Classic Film Festival is a destination for cinephiles, and the 2024 edition will undoubtedly be among the best yet,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy said in a statement.

“We are so thrilled to invite TCM fans to celebrate the very best in cinema in the heart of Hollywood and to be amongst the filmmakers and casts who have lit up the silver screen for us all over the years.”

In June, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav moved oversight of the beloved TCM to De Luca and Abdy in the wake of layoffs that claimed the jobs of longtime staffers Pola Changnon, Charlie Tabesh and Genevieve McGillicuddy. (Tabesh was rehired after a fierce backlash, and McGillicuddy will produce the 2024 festival.)

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the site of the first Academy Awards ceremony in 1929, will once again serve as the official hotel and central gathering point. Passes will go on sale in December, and there will be an early bird discount window. Click here for more information.

No word yet if the newly renovated Egyptian Theatre or American Legion Post 43 theater will be involved.

About this year’s theme, the festival announcement says:

“Since the beginning of cinema, filmmakers around the world have long been captivated by the inherent conflict between criminal endeavors and the pursuit of justice. A century’s worth of struggles between killers, crooks, convicts and the police, G-Men, amateur sleuths and other supposed keepers of the peace have entertained and thrilled audiences and storytellers alike.

“But movies also remind us that it’s not just simply about cops and robbers or good versus evil. Justice can be defined very differently when it comes to those wrongfully accused and pursued, to men and women of color, or when it’s corrupt authorities themselves who have violated the very law they are sworn to uphold.  In those stories, what is most wanted is justice that has been denied.”

Next year also marks the 30th anniversary of TCM, which went on the air April 14, 1994, with a screening of Gone With the Wind introduced by Robert Osborne.
