Manchester United are closing in on the signing of American goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

United have been trying to negotiate a fee with the goalkeeper’s club OL Reign and Mail Sport understands the gap between the two sides has narrowed significantly.

The move has the potential to surpass the record fee for a goalkeeper, which currently stands at £100,000.

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri appeared to mock Mo Salah’s goal celebration as Tunisia beat Egypt in a friendly on Tuesday night.

The visitors won 3-1 in Cairo, courtesy of an early strike from Aïssa Laïdouni followed by an Hamdi Fathi own goal. Egypt pulled a goal back through Omar Kamal in the first half, before Hamza Rafia sealed Tunisia’s win deep into injury time.

The goal sparked wild celebrations from Tunisia players, with Hannibal joining Rafia in mimicking the yoga pose Salah adopts after scoring.

Manchester United player Antony has been pictured relaxing with friends around a pool at a gated estate near Sao Paulo after agreeing to an indefinite leave of absence from his club following abuse allegations.

The 23-year-old looked relaxed as he posed for selfies with fans who recognised him as he enjoyed his downtime with two friends.

The striker had flown to Brazil before being told he was being dropped from this week’s International fixtures.

Manchester United’s search for a new shirt sponsor is over after the club confirmed they had agreed a £60million deal with US software company Snapdragon.

The software giant is a subsidiary of technology company Qualcomm who had been in discussions with United over becoming the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsors.

The new deal is richer than the current biggest shirt sponsorship package, which is held by Real Madrid and Fly Emirates.

Gareth Southgate has launched a robust defence of England’s ‘tower of strength’ Harry Maguire and blasted the pundit criticism he has suffered as ‘an absolute joke’.

Maguire’s England team-mates also rallied round the Manchester United man after his own goal gifted Scotland a route back into Tuesday night’s friendly at Hampden Park.

James Maddison hailed Maguire’s ‘big balls’ in an Instagram post after the defender maintained his composure once an unfortunate deflection past goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale had left him at the mercy of a partisan home crowd.
