The Rock got the pin and the win in his first real match in 11 years as The Bloodline stood tall at the end of WrestleMania 40 night one.

Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes gambled it all. But now, Rollins has to defend his world title with a bad knee and Rhodes challenges for a title under Bloodline rules – meaning the deck is stacked against him.

In his fifties and having not wrestled for over a decade, the expectations for The Rock were not sky high. However, after a pretty pedestrian first half of the matchup, the closing stages reminded us of the magic he still has.

These four men sure knew they were taking part in a legendary matchup as they soaked in the atmosphere at every given opportunity.

Philadelphia ate up the star power they were granted to enjoy. The Rock, sporting an unheard of physique at 51-years-old, did not shy away from the action. After Roman Reigns built the anticipation by starting the match, the crowd was at fever pitch.

As the action broke down and the four of them partnered off around the Lincoln Financial Field stadium, Rock told the referee: ‘If you count, you’re fired. I’m your boss. You know The Rock? I don’t f*** about.’

Rock and Rollins battled into the crowd while Reigns and Rhodes headed up the ramp. When the four men crossed paths by the ring apron, the tide of the match turned as Reigns dropped Rollins on the knee he injured in the lead-up to WrestleMania.

Naturally, Rock and Reigns worked over Rollins’ knee in meticulous detail. When Rhodes finally got the hot tag, he took the fight to Reigns as Rock recovered on the outside off the back of a Curb Stomp hit in desperation.

Reigns took a Curb Stomp and Cross-Rhodes while The Rock was down and looked beaten for all intents and purposes, but The Great One resurrected to whip the referee out of the ring before he could count The Bloodline to defeat.

Then the match went into overdrive. To summarise: Roman Reigns accidentally speared The Rock, Rhodes and Rollins hit stereo Pedigrees on Rock and Reigns before Rhodes Rock Bottomed The Rock through a table and Reigns speared Rollins through the barricade leaving carnage everywhere.

As Rhodes looked to have Reigns beat back in the ring, Rock whipped him with the belt once more and was able to take control. A Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow later, and Rock and Roman were victorious.
