How to Update Google TV [Streaming Device or TV]

1. In the Google TV home screen, select your Profile in the top right corner and click the Settings icon.

Note: In some Smart TVs with Google TV OS, like Sony, clicking the System Update will display two options. Choose the Software update to search for updates.

2. Go to the Sony Support website and search for your TV model.

Note: The Sony Google TV model number can be found on the sticker on the back side of the TV.

3. Go to the Firmware/Software section and click the Firmware Update to Version.

4. Read the description and click the Download button.

5. Scroll down and click the Download button again to download the firmware.

5. Now, unzip the file and extract it to the root directory of the USB flash drive.

6. Insert the USB into the TV slot and click the Update button to update your Sony Google TV.

7. Your Google TV will restart. After that, your TV runs on the latest firmware.

Sometimes, the update process through a USB flash drive may fail. If it fails, format the USB flash drive and try again.
