Lots of music superstars will be heading to the Yorkshire seaside this summer.

This is because Scarborough Open Air Theatre has another packed programme of outdoor concerts happening. Heading to the North Yorkshire coast, we’ll see Sir Tom Jones, Jess Glynne, Fatboy Slim, JLS and Madness perform, among many others.

As we’ve previously reported, Scarborough Open Air Theatre is massively in-demand by music greats. The venue, which has a capacity of around 8,000, was built by Scarborough Corporation in the 1930s.

The Lord Mayor of London officially opened it in Northstead Manor Gardens, in 1932, with audiences flocking to see Merrie England – the first production to be staged at the outdoor venue.

Since its refurbishment in 2010, we’ve seen a who’s who of music greats take in that wonderful sea air as they’ve performed on the main stage.
