Aaron Judge has not enjoyed the current season with the New York Yankees after the history he made last season. Breaking that non-steroid use single season home run record was a truly spectacular achievement. Judge finished the season with a whopping 62 homers that helped him break Roger Maris’ record he set during the early ‘1960s. But during this new season, the outfielder has been suffering injuries that have kept him away from this year’s home run competition. Friday’s game for the Yankees is taking place against the Baltimore Orioles and Aaron Judge has been officially activated to make his return to activity. It is unclear whether he is fully recovered or not but the ball club doesn’t make these decisions lightly.
Can Aaron Judge still compete against Shohei Ohtani?
Currently, Aaron Judge sits at only 19 home runs and 40 RBI. This means that if he wants to catch up to Ohtani, he will have to magically get an extra 18 and hope the Japanese star doesn’t get any more. But the chances are that Judge will probably get to experience Shohei Ohtani breaking his 62-home run record only a year after he broke it. Searching for this contest is impossible but what about the New York Yankees’ current chances to make the playoffs? Is it still possible for Aaron Judge to help the team get to the promised land after his return? Throughout the season, Yankees have truly felt the outfielder’s absence, especially at bat. Getting to the promised land also seems slightly tricky this season.

There is still a chance to make it happen but the odds are not in Judge and the Yankees’ favor.
