Fremantle still hold a handy 24-point lead going into the final change of the game but Richmond managed to turn things around, somewhat, in that third quarter.

They came out after half-time to kick three goals to two, after booting just the one goal in the first half.

It sets the scene for an interesting final term, however, the Tigers will need to do something pretty special in the remaining quarter to steal the win from here.

Nat Fyfe has come on to replace Sean Darcy, who has been taken off with a tight calf.

For Richmond, Kamdyn McIntosh has come on, with Sam Naismith off as the tactical sub.

Meanwhile, a big moment just now at Marvel Stadium as Calsher Dear, son of the 1991 Norm Smith medallist and Hawks premiership player, the late Paul Dear, was presented with his jumper in the forward pocket at Marvel Stadium ahead of his first game by Paul’s friend and premiership teammate James ‘The Freak’ Morrisey.

The game feels like it’s had a change of tempo with the Tigers getting some control and notching up a more respectable looking scoreline.

Richmond kicked three goals in a row, the last of those thanks to Mykelti Lefau, before the Dockers’ Matthew Johnson stopped the run with his own major.

But the Tigers have started to create opportunities for themselves, including for young Tom Brown, who had the chance to boot his first AFL goal, but it went through for a behind.

Well, after almost a full half without any goals, Richmond have now gone back-to-back.

Following Hugo Ralphsmith’s goal was Tyler Sonsie’s with another.

It was the Tigers’ first goal from a defensive 50 chain and cut Fremantle’s lead by down to 24 points.

Dustin Martin fed the ball into the Tigers’ inside 50 and into the hands of Hugo Ralphsmith, who flew to take the grab.

With the set shot, Ralphsmith kicked Richmond’s second goal of the afternoon and gave the Tiger army finally something to cheer about.

Michael Frederick is on the board and the Dockers look away.

Of course, there’s still almost an entire half of footy left to play. But Fremantle have now kicked seven goals to none and Richmond don’t look anywhere near a big comeback.

Alright, we’re off in the second half.

Let’s see if Richmond can get more than one goal this half.

Richmond’s fans seem more upset with missing out on a late free kick after Andrew Brayshaw dropped the ball while being tackled across the boundary line, then watching Sean Darcy walk to the goal line for a goal from a 50m penalty after the siren.

The Tigers’ faithful showered the umpires with boos as they walked off at half-time, with Fremantle 31 points up and dominating this contest.

Richmond could have been closer if not for their 1.7 scoreline but they are being significantly outplayed.

The Dockers are locking the ball in their forward half and boast 31 of the game’s 44 inside 50s, helped by a 17-7 clearance advantage and 49-35 contested possession lead.

Caleb Serong’s disposal bine continues with 19 at the main break, while Jayden Short heads the Tigers’ tally with 17.
