Alright, let us know your thoughts, footy fans: Who’s winning tonight?

Will the Blues lock away another win to start their season or will the Tigers make up for their less than ideal first game against the Suns?

Shall we take a peep back at what happened last week for the Blues and Tigers while we wait for them to take the field tonight?

For Carlton, elation. The Blues came back from 46-points down to claim a monumental 1-point win over last year’s grand finalists, the Brisbane Lions, who many have as flag favourites.

While Charlie Curnow kicked four goals throughout the evening, it was his fellow forward spearhead Harry McKay who put through the match-winner. Stunning.

For Richmond, a bit of a reality check.

The Tigers flew up Queensland to face their former three-time premiership coach Damien Hardwick’s new side, Gold Coast.

There, the Suns claimed a 39-point win to sore to the top of the ladder – the first time they’ve finished a home and away round on top.

Richmond did come back from being 67-points down just before half-time, showing some needed fight in the final two quarters to regain some pride. But not a great start, to say the least.

Good evening, footy fans.

Are we ready for the first game of round one? The traditional blockbuster opener, Carlton and Richmond, just a week later.

Opening round, or round zero, had some great storylines, big moments and controversial pushing and shoving. But now we’re all systems go with all 18 teams involved for round one.

And, of course, footy returns to the MCG for 2024.

You’ve got me, Marnie Vinall, steering the blog ship, while Peter Ryan, our brilliant senior AFL reporter, will be feeding in expert analysis and commentary, and sports reporter Roy Ward is on hand.

Exciting times! Ok, let’s get to this.
