Injuries looked to have slowed the Bulldogs to a crawl.

The Swans have edged out to a four-goal lead in the last term as the game starts to slip from their opponents’ grasp.

Chad Warner has become the second-half star, and what a player he is. He booted the first goal of the last quarter to bring up four for the match, which is some return for a mid-forward.

The Bulldogs pulled one back with a goal from James Harmes in the last quarter, but the Swans kicked their 14th major of the night when Warner found teammate Taylor Adams free in front of goal.

To borrow the commentary from a famous Swans moment, Chad Warner, you star!

The midfield dynamo has just kicked his third goal after taking a hanger in the goal square – over teammate Brodie Grundy, no less.

This has been an impressive game by Warner, who was relatively quiet with 10 possessions in the first half but has already amassed eight disposals and two goals in the third term.

He’s been a key reason as to why the Swans have turned a four-point deficit at half-time into a three-goal lead.

Injuries look to have slowed the Dogs to a crawl.

Ed Richards is out of the game after failing a concussion test, the Bulldogs have confirmed.

That’s a cruel blow for the Bulldogs. Richards had continued his strong form in the midfield, and was best afield in the first half.

The Dogs will have to fight hard from here to reel in the Swans without a player that had been so important for them.

He now joins Anthony Scott (concussion) and Aaron Naughton (knee) out of the game tonight.

The Swans lead by 12 points with three minutes remaining in the third term.

The Swans have hit back in a cracking clash at Marvel Stadium.

Liam Jones will not be happy with his last passage of play. He’s grassed a chest mark, then under pressure coughed it up by hand, and in the chaos Alex Keath knocked it out of bounds, resulting in a free kick and goal to Sam Wicks.

Wicks, for those interested, was given a high five by several teammates.

Soon after, the Swans were able to stretch their lead further when Chad Warner kicked his second for the night.

The Swans have now booted four goals to the Bulldogs’ one in this quarter.

Swans lead by 11 points with six minutes remaining in the third term.

We’ve kicked off the third quarter where we left off at half-time, both sides trading goals and the Dogs suffering more injuries.

Ed Richards is undergoing a SCAT test in the rooms. That’s bad news for the Dogs on a few fronts.

If he fails the concussion test, he’s out of the game, and next week against Collingwood. It’s also a massive blow tonight. Richards was arguably the best player on the ground in the first half with 18 disposals.

The Swans opened the term with a major to big forward Logan McDonald, but the Bulldogs quickly answered through their young gun Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

Ugle-Hagan has two for the game and has taken four contested marks in the forward 50.

The Bulldogs lead by a point with 14 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The goal-for-goal nature of this game continues, and as fans, don’t we love it.

Let’s hope both sides can keep up this pace, but the Bulldogs have been disadvantaged by injuries, losing Aaron Naughton and Anthony Scott for the night.

Will Hayward pushed Sydney’s lead out to nine points at one stage in this second term, and it looked like the Swans might kick away.

Not likely. The Bulldogs landed two majors in a row to pinch back the lead – the first to Riley Garcia and then Laitham Vandermeer was pushed in the back and kicked a goal from the resulting free kick.

We don’t like criticising umpires, it’s a tough caper, but that last goal is one of the reasons why fans get furious with the whistleblowers.

Chad Warner brought down Vandermeer with a rugged tackle but the umpire, instead of paying holding the ball, awarded a high tackle to the Bulldogs.

An unhappy Warner then referred the umpire to the big screen, which resulted in a 50-metre penalty and a certain goal.

Outside that one call, this is a ripper game to watch.

The Bulldogs lead at half-time by four points.

If the Dogs lose tonight they may well rue the last 10 minutes when they have had the game played predominantly in their forward half but cannot find a way to goal.

They wasted a golden opportunity through Bailey Dale, who burst clear to about 30 out with a clear shot at goal but pulled it to the left.

The Swans then took it down the other end where Errol Gulden converted clinically from 40 out. Of course he did. He’s a phenomenal young footballer.

The Swans lead by nine points.
