69,563 fans streamed into the MCG tonight for the big clash, just shy of St Kilda’s home record, which sits at 72,669.

Although in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, the top levels did thin out a considerable amount as the game got out of Collingwood’s grasp.

How did that win feel for Saint fan favourite Bradley Hill?

“Unreal. A bit of disappointment in the first half but we thought we went strong tonight and the effort was unreal,” Hill told Channel Seven.

“And it’s good to get the win over the Pies.”

Offt, what a win for St Kilda! They started strong, they finished strong. While there was a bit of sloppy play in the middle there, a well-rounded performance that Saints fans appear very, very happy well. Including Eric Bana in the crowd.

And what a horror start to their season for Collingwood. The reigning premiers are now 0-3, which is fair to say very few, likely none, would have predicted a few weeks ago.

St Kilda defeat Collingwood 14.10 (94) to 12.7 (79).

St Kilda are up by a comfortable 21-points but are playing like there’s just a point in it with a minute left. There’s three.

Things are tense as Collingwood stare down a 0-3 season start.

One to watch on the injury front, Liam Henry left the field in the latter half of the final quarter and didn’t return after receiving treatment to his right hamstring. When doing running tests, he indicated that no, he couldn’t play on.

St Kilda fans are celebrating like they’ve just won the grand final. They haven’t even won this game yet – but they’re close.

It was Jack Higgins with a mammoth kick, his fourth of the night. The replay showed he was quite a distance outside the boundary, but it’s too late. No score review is called, so it’s a goal.

There was a lot of jumping, screaming and flag waving from the MCG. One thing this game hasn’t lacked is a vocal crowd.

St Kilda lead by 20-points with just over six minutes to go.

Did I just jinx the Saints? My apologies.

Bobby Hill has kicked another thrilling goal, after taking the ball without an opponent near him in the Pies’ inside 50 and streaming straight into goal.

It cuts the margin down to 15-points. The intensity has just lifted ten-fold by the Pies.

We could be in for a thrilling finish!

Well, never say never. Especially with Collingwood.

But the Saints hold a 21-point lead with11 minutes left on the clock.

So, that makes things very tricky for Magpies, who just can’t get a stronghold on any of this game this second half.

Meanwhile, St Kilda are firing on all fronts, including, most importantly, their forward line.

Bobby Hill did get one back for the Magpies – and by the roar from the crowd, seemed like Collingwood fans really needed that one.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae would be searching for answers as the Saints fired another one to start the final quarter. And it was Liam Henry this time to cause the Magpie army more pain.

One of McRae’s moves was subbing off Oleg Markov at three-quarter time and bringing in Finlay Macrae. They could do with some fresh legs.

For Saints fans, it’s a pretty sight here at the MCG. St Kilda are keeping their steam as they put pace on the ball and pressure on their opposition.
