Bronny James has been tipped for a bright future in the NBA to follow the footsteps of his father LeBron James, and the youngster has sparked speculation his rise to becoming a professional player could be arriving sooner rather than later.

The 19-year-old took to Instagram to post pictures from his training sessions and captioned it with the hourglass emoji, offering a cryptic clue about his upcoming events. Fans were left stumped by what he meant, but it seems the James family are preparing for a big announcement as Bronny‘s post was reshared by his parents, LeBron and Savannah James.

Could LeBron James’ decision to play with Bronny jeopardize his final years?

The 2024 NBA Draft is set to begin on June 26 and there has been some division in opinion as to whether the Los Angeles Lakers could unite Bronny and LeBron. NBA analyst Shams Charania has predicted the chances of Bronny getting picked by the Lakers are very high, while LeBron could extend his stay with the team for another two seasons.

As rumors intensified, NBA expert Sean Davis weighed in on the subject, offering alternate approaches that the Lakers may adopt. Although it would be logical to pick Bronny James in the second round, Davis suggested that the team would have more flexibility if they gave him a two-way contract.

Will Bronny James join the Lakers?

Bronny, a 6-foot-4, 210-point guard, he has shown glimpses of his talent but lacks the statistics to justify a high draft pick. With just 4.8 points per game on 36.6% shooting, along with 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in over 19 minutes, selecting him at 17th overall would be seen as a significant reach.

However, waiting until the 55th pick might not be feasible, as other teams could potentially select him earlier. It may be wiser for the Lakers and for LeBron to select a player with more immediate impact potential, or explore trade for players who have been linked before such as Dejounte Murray, Donovan Mitchell or Zach Lavine.

Bronny could potentially end up on another team and work towards playing alongside his father in the near future, depending on where LeBron wants to finish his career.
