Yet, the Hawkeyes demonstrated composure at the free-throw line, sinking crucial shots down the stretch while limiting West Virginia’s scoring opportunities.

Ultimately, Iowa’s collective effort, buoyed by Clark’s remarkable performance, proved decisive. Despite West Virginia’s spirited challenge, the Hawkeyes emerged triumphant with a hard-fought 64-54 victory.

JJ Quinerly led West Virginia’s offensive charge with 15 points, supported by Kyah Watson’s 13 points and seven rebounds, along with Hemingway’s 10 points off the bench. Meanwhile, Clark showcased her all-around brilliance with eight rebounds and three assists in addition to her scoring prowess.

Looking ahead, Iowa sets its sights on the Sweet 16 showdown against No. 5 Colorado in Albany.
