In an intense matchup on Thursday night, the Indiana Fever emerged victorious against the Atlanta Dream with a final score of 91-84.

The Fever’s victory, their fourth of the season, came despite a challenging night for rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.

Aliyah Boston led the charge for Indiana, delivering a season-high performance with 27 points and 13 rebounds.

Her dominant play was complemented by Kelsey Mitchell, who added 24 points, including three key three-pointers, two assists, two rebounds, and two steals.

The Fever built a commanding 18-point lead early on, but the Dream mounted a spirited comeback in the fourth quarter.

Rhyne Howard spearheaded Atlanta’s effort with a series of impressive three-pointers, bringing her team to a narrow 82-81 lead with just over three minutes remaining.

However, Indiana closed the game on a 10-2 run, securing their win as Atlanta managed only two points in the final stretch.

Caitlin Clark has low-scoring outing against the Dream

While Boston and Mitchell shined, Caitlin Clark had a subdued night.

The WNBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick scored only seven points on 3-for-11 shooting and committed seven turnovers.

Clark’s performance has sparked conversations among fans and analysts, particularly regarding her ability to handle pressure from strong defenders.

“Caitlin really has to get stronger; she can’t get any separation,” commented one fan on social media platform X, echoing the sentiment of many who were disappointed with her performance.

Another fan added, “#CaitlinClark playing terrible. Taking her team out of rhythm right now. #Fever #WNBA.”

Despite the criticism, Clark remains a pivotal figure in the league.

Beyond her on-court performance, she has been at the center of broader cultural debates, often unrelated to her play.

Addressing these issues, Clark expressed her frustration with her name being used in divisive discussions.

“People should not be using my name to push those agendas. It’s disappointing. It’s not acceptable,” she said.

“Treating every single woman in this league with the same amount of respect, I think it’s just a basic human thing that everybody should do.

The Fever, now 4-10, have shown resilience, winning three of their last five games.

They will face the Chicago Sky on Sunday in what promises to be another challenging encounter.
