Caitlin Clark has yet to play a minute in the WNBA, but she is already changing the game. Clark, drafted by the Indiana Fever earlier this week, has drawn crowds and controversy in Indianapolis this week as she zeroes in on signing a lucrative shoe deal with Nike and gets set for her pro debut next month.
Clark is set to become only the third active WNBA player with a signature shoe, part of a deal worth eight figures with Nike. No concept of prototype design has been unveiled as of yet, but with help from AI, the possibilities for the Fever star’s new footwear are limitless.

One side of Clark’s first-ever signature shoe could have a red and/or yellow hue to match the Fever’s signature colors, and a “high-top” style for ankle protection.
The other side of Clark’s Nike signature shoe could be even more colorful, with shades of blue and pink ensuring it stands out from the crowd.
Basketball insider Shams Charania on Thursday reported that Clark’s deal with Nike to manufacture a shoe like this will be worth at least $20 million, an agreement that will forge new ground in the women’s game. Nike won the “race” for Clark in spite of fierce competition from Adidas and Under Armour — whose flagship athlete, Stephen Curry, was reportedly involved in the company’s pitch to land the 22-year-old.
In the end, Clark and her entourage have selected Nike — just as men’s basketball phenom Victor Wembanyama did last year. The footwear giant signing up both young stars bodes well for the company’s future as it seeks to appeal to a new generation of basketball fans — many of whom have followed Clark closely over the past year as she broke NCAA scoring records.
