As soon as Aaron Rodgers’ injury happened, there were multiple people from the NFL industry who started speculating on one quarterback to replace him. You already know Tom Brady is at the very top of a players’ list that could potentially take that spot. But getting to convince him won’t be easy, that is if the New York Jets’ leadership is even thinking about the possibility. As of right now, there is no indication that Tom Brady has even been contacted to potentially take Aaron Rodgers’ place as the team’s QB1. Zach Wilson remains as the one player who will fill that role. However, that doesn’t mean nobody is going to try to convince Brady that playing one last season in the NFL is a great idea. Everybody agrees that would be a fan favorite choice.
The problem that prevents Tom Brady from playing for the Jets
You may think Tom Brady playing in the NFL again is possible but things are not that easy for him as a new minority stake franchise owner. Tom is already a Las Vegas Raiders’ minority owner, he’s already been spotted supporting all the players right before games. If he accepted a hypothetical offer from the New York Jets, there would already be a conflict of interest because he would be playing for a potential Super Bowl rival. However, Brady playing for the Jets is not impossible despite his involvement with the Raiders. If he wanted, he would have to ask permission from all 32 NFL team owners. With 3/4 of approval, Tom would be allowed to play for a different team. That means 24 votes out of 32.

First Take pundit Shannon Sharpe came out to say he would be on Tom Brady’s speed dial to convince him to play for the Jets. But there has been no conformation anybody has reached out to him to potentially play for the New York Jets. Here’s what Sharpe said on the ESPN show: “I’m calling Tom Brady. Seriously, I am going to put a call into Tom Brady. All these other guys, I understand that. (Carson) Wentz is available and Nick Foles is available and maybe you can get Matt Ryan to come up out of the booth, CBS. I’m calling Tom. Tom, seriously, we got 25 mill on the table for you. Can you come give us something?”
