Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was disqualified from the team’s road loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field for punching cornerback Keisean Nixon. The punch occurred amid a few poor calls from the NFL officials.
Pacheco, 24, left the match with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter. He will probably be suspended or fined for punching Nixon, who was still wearing his helmet, which seemingly hurt the fiery running back’s hand.
The Chiefs RB punched Nixon during a fumble return touchdown that referees eventually correctly reversed after verifying on video that wide receiver Rashee Rice was down by contact.
The punch, however, gave the Chiefs a 15-yard penalty on the final drive of the game, which ended in a failed Hail Mary attempt from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Before then, though, the officials called a personal foul on a Packers player despite hitting Mahomes while he was still inbounds.
Referees seemingly made up for that terrible call by failing to blow their whistle on a defensive pass interference when Marquez Valdes-Scantling was targeted near the end zone.

Jonathan Owens pushes Travis Kelce on final play
Mahomes, 28, launched a Hail Mary pass to the end zone with the clock ticking down to zero and nearly found tight end Travis Kelce.
Packers safety Jonathan Owens, however, pushed Kelce from behind and got away with a DPI to clinch the victory for Green Bay.

A lot can be said about the Chiefs wide receivers and Packers players deserve all the credit for winning, but the terrible officiating left a sour taste in fans’ mouths.
Pass interference is also rarely ever called on a last-gasp Hail Mary attempt. Owens is married to Simone Biles and Kelce is dating Taylor Swift, so this play will probably lead to the NFL cracking down on such plays.
