On Sunday, Sergio Perez achieved his seventh podium finish of the year and secured his second consecutive one, contributing to another one-two victory for Red Bull in the Belgian Grand Prix.
Despite starting from the sixth position, the current championship leader and two-time champion, Max Verstappen, displayed an impressive performance. On the other hand, Perez began the race from second position.

During the race, Verstappen demonstrated his dominance, overtaking his Mexican teammate on lap 17 to claim the lead.
Although rain threatened to alter the dynamics of the track, Verstappen maintained his strong position.
Throughout the current Formula 1 season, Verstappen‘s dominance has been remarkable, as he has consistently gained a substantial advantage over his competitors, including his Mexican teammate, over whom he had nearly a half-minute difference this Sunday.
Ultimately, Verstappen secured the victory in Belgium with a 20-second lead over Perez, who, in turn, had a considerable gap ahead of Charles Leclerc, securing second place.
Arturo Elias Ayub’s claim about Verstappen
After the race, Arturo Elias Ayub made a statement acknowledging Verstappen‘s talent while expressing his belief that the car driven by the world champion is better constructed compared to the one provided to Perez by the Red Bull team.
The significant advantage that Verstappen gained during the Spa race has reignited speculation about Red Bull potentially favoring Verstappen with a superior car.
Such accusations have arisen before, with fans and personalities questioning whether the Dutchman enjoys an advantage due to his car.
“I have no doubt that Max Verstappen is the best driver on the grid, but to get a 20-second lead from Checo, in P2, when Checo increased his advantage against Charles Leclerc, in P3, is because his car HAS TO BE much faster than the others,” Elias Ayub said.
“That much difference can’t be made by just the driver.”
After his victory over the weekend, Verstappen‘s chances of winning the Formula 1 drivers’ championship have improved, and he is determined to secure his third in a row, which might potentially be decided at the Mexican Grand Prix.
