Coach Prime is no stranger to making bold moves.

Just a day after the Colorado Buffaloes secured the No. 1 rank in the transfer portal for the 2024 cycle, Sanders took to social media to drop a cryptic message in classic Prime Time style.

“I don’t gamble but I’ve always bet on myself! You Gotta Believe,” Sanders exclaimed, emphasizing his unwavering confidence and determination.

After a challenging debut season in Boulder, where the Buffaloes finished with a 4-8 record, Deion Sanders is on a mission to turn things around.

The 2023 season started with promise, but a downward spiral resulted in eight losses in the last nine games, leaving fans disappointed.

The offensive line, in particular, faced criticism for failing to protect star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Despite the challenges of the previous season, the Buffaloes showcased prowess in passing yards, ranking 20th in total passing yards and 15th in passing yards per game.

Buffaloes’ road to redemption in 2024

Undeterred by the setbacks, Coach Prime has been actively shaping the Buffaloes’ roster through the transfer portal.

In his debut season, Sanders orchestrated a massive overhaul, bringing in over 50 players to build a competitive team from the ground up.

While the numbers might not be as staggering this time, Colorado leads the pack with the first program to secure 10 commitments in the portal.

The team is gearing up for a resurgence, securing top talents like AP All-American athlete Travis Hunter and the #1 ranked Offensive lineman of 2024, Jordan Seaton.

Colorado’s focus is on strengthening OL

Sanders has strategically focused on strengthening the offensive line to provide better protection for his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Notable additions include Tyler Johnson from UTEP, Justin Mayers, Yakiri Walker, Matthew Bedford, and Khalil Benson.

The emphasis on fortifying the line underscores Sanders’ commitment to addressing the team’s shortcomings.

One key addition to the Buffaloes is former Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Walter Taylor.

Standing at 6’7 and weighing 235 pounds, Taylor brings both size and skill to the quarterback position.

A four-star recruit from Jackson, Alabama, Taylor adds depth to the quarterback roster alongside transfer Destin Wade and redshirt freshman Ryan Staub.

With three years of eligibility, Taylor is poised to compete for the primary backup role behind senior star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

As the Buffaloes gear up for their first season back in the Big 12 since 2010, Deion Sanders’ message is clear-betting on himself has been a winning formula, and the future looks promising for Colorado football.
