Former Houston Cougars defensive lineman Chidozie Nwankwo committed to the Colorado Buffaloes last week, and talked to head coach Deion Sanders on Instagram Live. Fans noticed a possible weapon and drugs in the young man’s home during the call.
Nwankwo is just a small part of Coach Prime‘s overhaul this offseason after a 4-8 season that saw the defensive line struggle mightily, but nobody is indispensable.

It’s possible Nwankwo has a permit to own a piece, or that it’s fake, a prop lighter, etc., but the alleged bag of marijuana could also hurt his stock.
Nwankwo is no slouch, though, so it’s possible they forgive him, but if NBA star Ja Morant got in trouble for a similar reason, then it’s hard not to expect an investigation.
Who is Chidozie Nwankwo?
The defensive lineman is a three-star recruit who started his career with Houston in 2020 and played four seasons there, recording 94 tackles.
Nwankwo has four career sacks and came out of Foster High School in Richmond, Texas.
He won several awards, including a defensive Most Valuable Player award his junior year. Nwankwo could even make it to the NFL one day.
