Lionel Messi continues to make headlines after helping Inter Miami qualify for the Leagues Cup final on Tuesday night.
The Argentine netted yet again as the Herons cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union, setting up a clash with Nashville SC on Saturday.
While Messi has taken MLS by storm since making his debut, it appears the excitement may not end there.

According to Huge Balassone of TyC Sports, Messi and Inter Miami have reportedly been invited to participate in the next edition of the Copa Libertadores.
Chiqui Tapia, Argentine football executive and current president of the Argentine Football Association, is said to have made the formal offer that would see Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba take part in the competition.
While it wouldn’t be easy to include Inter Miami due to the calendar, the possibility remains.
What Tapia had to say
“Undoubtedly, the presidents are talking about having some competitions to be held jointly so that South American soccer continues to be aligned with the one here,” said Tapia when asked about Messi possibly playing in the Copa Libertadores.
“It is not what some people think, but it is very important for Conmebol. Domínguez always laughingly says that he has already given Leo two cups, and that the next one could be the Libertadores.”
