Wakefield Council have released a statement after a boy fell from a slide in Pontefract Park.

In a video on social media, a child can be seen going down the slide. However, they soon pick up too much speed and fly off the side, hitting their face on the floor.

Now, due to concerns about the slide, the council has announced it has been closed until they are “fully confident” it has become safe. They also added that they were “really sorry” about what had happened and said the company who had made the slide had previously assured them the issues had been fixed.
