Cristiano Ronaldo lived through a roller coaster at the Asia Cup final between Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, he managed to win his first title with his new club and he was the most important player of the tournament. Al-Nassr did not wake up during the final until the final 30 minutes of the game but there was a specific moment in which Ronaldo felt provoked by Michael, who celebrated with Cristiano’s signature move after drawing first blood only six minutes into the second half.

With 16 minutes left on the clock, Cristiano Ronaldo tied the game after a brilliant cross from Sultan Al Ghannam. But the game had to go into extra time, that was more than enough for Cristiano Ronaldo to seal the final 2-1 victory with a header as he finished a counter attack for Al-Nassr. This happened in the 97th minute but there was a moment in which the star had to be carted off the pitch with tears in his eyes.

Cristiano Ronaldo suffers a knee injury

It all happened after Ronaldo had already sealed the two goal that gave al-Nassr the first Asian Cup in the club’s history. An image of the Portuguese star leaving the pitch inside a cart and touching his left knee with tears in his eyes. This is the exact same left knee in which he already suffered an injury during the 2016 European Cup final. Could this be a parallel of that final? Ronaldo experienced a massive deja-u by having to wait stressing minutes until the final whistle.

Clutch Ronaldo takes Al-Hilal to victory

But unlike that final with Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo does feel more responsible for this trophy because he was the absolute best player of the tournament. With 6 scored goals, he was the top scorer, tournament MVP and score a brace in the final. Al-Nassr can’t ask anything else to Ronaldo in his first tournament played for them. Only the injury leaves a sour after taste. Until he gets a CT scan, we won’t know the extent of the injury but watching him jump around during the celebrations gives us hope he didn’t suffer a serious injury.
