The new NFL season is about to kick off and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been speaking to the media, bigging up the level of his team’s offense.
The quarterback is very excited about some of the skill players on the roster this year, specifically highlighting Brandin Cooks and Deuce Vaughn.
“Yeah, we have a lot of speed,” the quarterback told the media.
“You can name a lot of guys, guys that have speed but are playmakers.
“Speed is one thing, but to be a playmaker is another thing.
“For me, it’s about getting these guys the ball, whether in the run game or the pass game, or just out in space to allow them to do what they do best, which is break tackles, make people miss and show off their speed.
“We have got a handful of guys and that is going to make my job easier.”
Dallas Cowboys fans are sceptical
Despite the optimism displayed by the quarterback, many Dallas Cowboys fans are more pessimistic.
After Prescott threw 15 interceptions in 12 games last season, some have pointed out that the skill players’ speed won’t matter if the ball is thrown to the defenders.
“But do they have a QB to get it to them when it counts?” wondered one fan on Twitter.
“Doesn’t matter if you have no QB and head coach,” another fan stated.
“This offense still has a Dak, therefore will not go far,” added another.
“Not gonna matter when he throws 30 INTs,” was another blunt response.
The Dallas Cowboys’ Week One game
The team from Texas will commence the new season by resuming their rivalry against the New York Giants, facing the team from the Big Apple in Week One.
That game is away at Metlife Stadium and will be on Sunday Night Football on NBC.
