It’s one of the biggest pieces of news ahead of the NFL season that is about to start, Ezekiel Elliott made a trade to the New England Patriots. He leaves the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott after seven seasons. During that period of time, Elliott became one of the best running backs in the entire NFL. Elliott has been part of three Pro Bowls in his career and has been rushing yards leader twice, in 2016 and 2018. During that time, Dak Prescott became one of his best teammates. Almost every single football team needs a great relationship between quarterback and running back. They are involved or interact in 95% of all the plays during the game. Dallas Cowboys fans had been expecting Dak Prescott’s reaction to the news.

Elliott was no longer a Dallas Cowboy

We need to keep this clear, Ezekiel Elliott was not returning to the Dallas Cowboys after they released him earlier this year. The running back decided to go shopping for a new team and got the best experience while visiting the New England Patriots. Elliott’s rookie season was absolutely incredible but he hasn’t done anything similar ever since. He’s been close to matching that year but simply not at the same level. The New England Patriots will be waiting for that moment to return as Elliott had been playing below the radar for a few seasons now. Dak did post an Instagram Story in which he wishes Elliott the best but no long post.

Now that he has finally moved on from the Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott is already working hard in order to return to that same level from his rookie season. Up next, there is a good chance that Zeke makes his debut with the New England Patriots during the upcoming pre-season Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers. Lambeau Field will host this game on Sunday as all teams get ready for the regular season. It is now up to him to work hard in order to convince coach Bellichick he can get back to his best form.
