It has not been the most auspicious start to the season for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys but finally they have something to cheer about.
Prescott‘s side came up against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night and managed to edge out a 20-17 victory, taking their record to 4-2 for the season.
Prescott was seen yelling ‘thank you!’ to the SoFi Stadium roof after the game came to an end. Dallas and Prescott desperately needed this victory and that is what they got.
Their previous game had been an embarrassing 42-10 loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Prescott was quick to acknowledge the importance of a big result against the Chargers.

“S- yeah,” Prescott added after calling the game a ‘must win’. “I mean, it’s early in the season, but 4-2 or 3-3, it’s a huge difference.”

One of the most important parts of the performance for the Cowboys was the was Prescott used his legs more than usual. He explained afterwards that it was needed following the 49ers loss, but also influenced by the nature of the match against the Chargers.
“Realizing that’s maybe something we could use,” he added. “And obviously (the Chargers) had some great coverage at the beginning of the play. Mike (McCarthy) is always preaching about (extending plays after the initial 2.3 seconds). The guys did a great job of coming open after, staying alive, the offensive line keeping their bodies on someone, giving me a chance to get out in different lanes.
“I had CeeDee (Lamb) in motion as an option,” Prescott said. “The defensive end took (Tony Pollard). The two other guys ran towards CeeDee. It just allowed me to cut up field. Great play call, honestly. It wasn’t necessarily sound on their end. Somebody has to have the quarterback, but not showing my legs, not running early in the year, I think played a part in that. I was just able to go get it.”
