The Colorado Buffaloes had a noteworthy weekend during their Spring Game at the end of April, featuring a high-profile concert with five-time Grammy winner Lil Wayne at the CU Events Center.

However, not all aspects of Coach Deion Sanders‘ event were received positively.

Shedeur Sanders ruthlessly mocked by his Colorado teammates

Sources within the team revealed that Coach Prime required all players to attend the concert, reportedly threatening to remove anyone who skipped it.

Shedeur Sanders, Coach Prime’s son, was part of the opening act lineup, performing his new single “Perfect Timing” in front of the packed crowd in Boulder.

Coach Prime himself released a single titled “Must Be The Money II” via Death Row Records two weeks earlier. Neither track has made it onto the Billboard 100 or gained widespread radio play.

“The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal,” a source told Athlon Sports.

“When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played.”

A turbulent offseason

The Colorado Buffaloes are set to begin their 2024 season against North Dakota State on Thursday, August 29.

This development adds to the turbulent offseason for the Buffaloes, who have seen 42 players leave the program since the end of the 2023 season.

Despite successfully recruiting replacements, this marks the second significant roster turnover since Coach Prime’s arrival early last year.
