After what seemed like an eternity of pre-fight buildup, fans will finally get to see Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia settle their differences in the ring on Saturday night.

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney engage in a shouting match before one of them slaps the other

Before we get there, though, the weigh-in took place on Friday. Garcia actually missed weight, coming in at three pounds over 140. Haney’s WBC super lightweight title will not be on the line as a result.

Despite that, the fight is still going ahead. And Haney doesn’t seem to care at all what weight Garcia came in at anyway.

There didn’t appear to be any sort of doubt at all from Haney about whether the fight would happen. Both fighters are locked in.

Ryan Garcia will owe Devin Haney $1.5 million

Haney’s team might have known this was coming. At the press conference on Thursday, Bill Haney swayed Garcia into a big-money bet on the weight limit, and Garcia agreed.

So now not only does Garcia have to fork over a bunch of his own money, he also can’t even take Haney’s belt from him even if he wins on Saturday night. Granted, at this point it seems that Garcia is only in this for bragging rights and to make a statement.
