Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was ejected late in the team’s road loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium after starting an on-field brawl when backup quarterback Drew Lock threw his second interception of the night.
Metcalf, 25, had already displayed a fit of frustration on the sideline earlier in the game following Lock’s first INT. The Seahawks WR broke his helmet warmer upon slamming it against the equipment.
Once the second interception removed all posibilities of a comeback for Seattle, Metcalf bodyslammed 49ers lineback Fred Warner, who slightly retaliated with a shove.
Metcalf then got in the face of Warner and grabbed him by his helmet while seemingly yelling, leading to other players joining the commotion. Deommodore Lenoir was also ejected amid the brawl.
Pete Carroll has warned DK Metcalf
The broadcast announcers mentioned how Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has already had to speak with Metcalf about his outbursts.
Metcalf, who was on his way to another spectacular game in the first quarter, has yet to take the advice.
He finished the contest with 52 receiving yards and a touchdown on two catches. Last week, Metcalf scored three TDs, but was unfortunate that Geno Smith couldn’t play against San Francisco due to injury.
