Draymond Green is arguably known just as much for speaking his mind as he is for his ability on the basketball court. The Golden State Warriors star, fresh off signing a new four-year, $100 million contract to stay in San Francisco, has gotten himself in a little hot water once again after appearing to take aim at NBA reporters for “leaks.”

Posting on social media Wednesday night, Green quote-tweeted a reporter’s scoop about a potential new arrival at Golden State — all but confirming this player, a former All-Star center, is on track to join the Warriors before the start of the 2023/24 NBA season.

Dwight Howard to Golden State?

According to reports Wednesday night, Dwight Howard appears on the verge of returning to the NBA and signing with the Warriors just weeks before the start of training camp.

The Warriors‘ championship-winning core — including Green and Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson — has reportedly given the green light to bring in Howard, an eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner who spent last season playing in Taiwan.

The 37-year-old Howard, who won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, is poised to play for his ninth NBA team if he finalizes a deal with Golden State in the coming days. The center was the #1 overall pick in the 2004 draft and has arguably put together a Hall of Fame resume — which could be enhanced if he can help the Dubs to a championship in 2024.

“One day, everything won’t leak”

The potential addition of Howard — yet another player with an All-Star and championship pedigree — becoming public knowledge wasn’t exactly welcome news for Draymond, who seemingly would have preferred that information stay in-house a little while longer.

“One day, everything won’t leak. … Good for you (by the way) Jason,” Green posted on X (formerly Twitter), in reference to reporter Jason Dumas‘s scoop on Howard. “But one day, EVERYTHING won’t leak.”

While Green appears somewhat perturbed by the “leak,” his missive on X does seem to confirm that not only is Golden State‘s interest in Howard real — it looks like the deal could be sealed after the big man works out with Green and Chris Paul later this week.
