A car fire closed a section of the M1 with emergency services called to the scene.
The incident happened earlier today with a shocking photo showing the flames quickly engulfing the vehicle. Firefighters attended the incident which happened at junction 46 of the M1.
To allow them to safely put the blaze out firefighters shut the motorway for about 25 minutes. An eye witness said: “The rescue services were superb. They were very quick and very co-ordinated.

“As far as I’m aware nobody was injured. The motorway was shut for about 25 minutes. A really good effort.”
