Sergio Brown had a brief career in the NFL in which he played for a number of storied franchises, yet he is facing a long legal battle after being arrested in relation to his mother’s death.
In a story posted by the New York Post, Brown was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder in relation to his own mother.
He was seen partying in Mexico in the days after her death, but was then deported from the country on Tuesday when it became apparent that he needed to be questioned over the incident.
An arrest warrant was issued in Illinois, and he was taken into custody in San Diego, which is where he landed after being deported from Mexico.

The exact details of the case aren’t yet known to the public, although it has been revealed that Brown’s mother, Myrtle, was found dead in her home in September.

Authorities in Illinois discovered the body after she her family couldn’t get into contact with her over a 48-hour period. They also couldn’t get into contact with Sergio, which raised suspicion.
The Cook Country Medical Examiner’s Office declared that the 73-year-old woman had died due to injured related to an assault.
Her death was declared a homicide, which is why her son was immediately needed for questioning, as he is considered the chief suspect.
Brown’s recent behavior has been wildly inappropriate considering what happened with his mother, and the rant he uploaded to a burner Instagram account appears more chilling after his arrest.
“What the fu*k? Missing? They ain’t never seen Finding Nemo? What the fu*k is going on? This is traumatic. Lucky I don’t have to say a joke. You… what the fu*k? Just keep swimming,” Brown declared before laughing hysterically.
