FOX Sports has successfully secured the US broadcasting rights for the Saudi Pro League, as reported first by World Soccer Talk. This marks a significant shift in the global football landscape, highlighting the growing prominence of the Saudi Pro League on the international stage with the acquisition of some of the best players in the world.
Starting from the 2023/24 season, which kicks off on Friday, August 11, FOX Sports will be the official broadcaster of the Saudi Pro League in the United States. FOX has been granted rights for the entirety of the season, ending in May 2024. Crucially, this deal covers both English and Spanish language broadcasts, catering to a diverse audience base.
Insiders reveal that IMG, an international sports agency, facilitated the deal after consultations with several US broadcasters. Both FOX Sports and its Spanish counterpart, FOX Deportes, showed particular interest in this lucrative offer. IMG is slated to provide broadcasting feeds from its hub in London and will also have on-ground coverage.

The rapid expansion and international recognition of the Saudi Pro League is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Prepping the country in their bid to host the 2030 World Cup. The Saudi Pro League’s global partnerships are clearly evident, with recently signing broadcasting deals in the UK and many other European nations.
The Saudi Pro League’s appeal goes beyond mere broadcasting rights. Football legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently signed a staggering $211 million/year deal, and Karim Benzema, are part of the league’s star ensemble. Moreover, it boasts a roster of former Premier League greats such as Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Ruben Neves, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, N’Golo Kante and more.
The inaugural matches of the 2023/24 season are slated to have kick-offs predominantly at 11 AM ET or 2 PM ET, appealing nicely to the U.S. market.
