If you plan on falling asleep on Christmas Day after a little too much debauchery of the food and drink variety, be sure to set an alarm with the FPL Gameweek 19 deadline in mind.

Managers have until 11:00 (GMT) on Tuesday to make their decisions ahead of five Boxing Day fixtures and more on Wednesday and Thursday. The usual big decisions need to be accounted for, with plenty of captaincy options to consider.

Here’s 90min’s top tips for the armband in Gameweek 19.

Mohamed Salah

It rarely matters what fixture Mohamed Salah has, the Liverpool attacker is always a top shout in the captaincy conversation.

The Egypt international showed his quality by dragging the Reds level against Arsenal last time out, sending a powerful shot flying past David Raya at the near post.

A trip to Burnley should result in an away victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side and points aplenty for Salah, even if the Clarets did manage their third league win of the season at Fulham in their previous game.

Son Heung-min

Only Erling Haaland (14) and Mohamed Salah (12) have out-scored Son Heung-min (11) in the Premier League this season, though the South Korean is joint-third in the standings alongside Jarrod Bowen and Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham’s visit to the south coast to take on Brighton is a game that promises goals and Son will fancy his chances of goals as arguably the most clinical finisher of those who’ll be in action at the Amex on Thursday.

The Spurs captain now has two goals and two assists in his last three games and has games against Bournemouth and Burnley on the horizon.

Bukayo Saka

Goal contributions have dried up somewhat for Bukayo Saka of late, having not produced a strike or an assist in Arsenal’s last three Premier League games.

That said, West Ham don’t always travel well and haven’t won a league game at the Emirates since 2015. Saka scored in this fixture last season, a game that ended 3-1 in the Gunners’ favour.

The 22-year-old has five goals and six assists so far this season and should return a decent haul of points in Gameweek 19.
