Francis Ngannou knows perfectly well what it feels like to be on the giving end of a brutal knock out. When he was still in the UFC and fought Stipe Miocic, he made the former champion bend with his devastating punching power. Now that he suffered the same treatment from Anthony Joshua, it was a moment of humility for him to realize things wouldn’t be as easy as he thought in this new boxing career. In fact, the Cameroonian star was in dire need of oxygen when he received that finishing shot. Also, Ngannou recently spoke to his fans on Instagram in order to give them an update. As it turns out, Ngannou is okay but he still needs to follow a certain protocol when punched like that.

Francis Ngannou’s health update after KO

Before accepting this fight, Francis was feeling extremely confident that he would be able to produce a similar fight against Anthony Joshua. But the reality is that Tyson Fury wasn’t himself against Ngannou and got dropped early in the fight. However, Anthony Joshua is currently going through one of the best moments of his career. Right now, perhaps only a fight against either a fit Tyson Fury or a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk are the only rivals that make sense to him. As soon as he landed the finishing punch, AJ knew he wouldn’t celebrate and this would be a great lesson for Francis. On the bright side, Ngannou did bank around $25 million for this fight and exponentially grew his fortune.

On a video posted to all his followers, Francis Ngannou said the following: “I was conscious right after (the KO), and since then everything’s been good. I’m still going to run some medical work, just in case. Leading up to that fight, it wasn’t my day. Not to say the result would have been different but it wasn’t my day. At any moment of the day, I felt like I wasn’t good to go. Even in the locker room, trying warm up, it wasn’t going well. I was falling asleep. I was sweating but I was falling asleep. That’s why I took some time out for me, some time to reflect on everything that happened to me. Heads up to Anthony Joshua, they did everything right. Heads up to my team too, we did everything properly but I didn’t execute the plan because I didn’t feel present.”
