Follow Mail Sport’s live blog for the latest score, team news and updates as Fulham host Newcastle at Craven Cottage in the FA Cup fourth round.

20:08, 49

Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

A good start from Fulham, who win an early corner. The fans that are here find their voices.

Willian puts the ball in the net but the flag is already up.

20:04, 46

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY – Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

The second half is underway in the capital.

Newcastle lead going into the break

I won’t lie, readers, it has not been a classic.

Fulham have been the better side but their struggles in front of goal have been on show, despite a few bright moments from Muniz and Wilson.

Losing the latter will be a blow. There will be some controversey over the goal, but it’s been given now.

19:49, 49

HALF TIME – Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

A really good cross from Tete is heading towards Willian but Trippier gets there first.

And that will be the half time whistle.

19:46, 46

Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

Jacob Muprhy has the ball in the net but the flag goes up after the ball ends up in the back of the net. Lee Dixon is going on about not putting the flag up for some reason.

Wilson can’t continue so he makes way. A blow for Fulham. Willian is on.

Three minutes added on.

NEWCASTLE LEAD – Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

Fulham protest, but the goal is given.

It does hit Guimaraes’ arm but it was one, somewhat down, and two, not him that scored the goal.

It fell to Longstaff and he swung a left leg at it and fired past Rodak.

Somewhat against the run of play, but a god strike.

19:40, 41

GOAL! – Fulham 0-1 Newcastle

Fulham fail to deal with a ball in from the original corner and I think it’s hit Guimaraes’s arm.

Rob Jones is VAR tonight. We wait.

THE GAL IS GIVEN! NEWCASTLE LEAD!

19:39, 41

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Robinson loses the ball in his own box and concedes a corner.

A GOALLLLLL COMES FROM IT!

There could be a handball. So don’t jump the gun.

19:37, 37

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Burn is late to a challenge on WIlson after the forward intercepts and he’s in a bit of pain, holding his shoulder.

He’s still holding his shoulder but gets up. Pereira takes the free kick and it’s good but headed away.

Wilson is down again and hurt. He may have to come off.

19:34, 34

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Oh, I thought that was in!

Muniz has been lively and he turns in the box. Burn gets a leg in the way, but the pace doesn’t come off it and it flies past a static Dubravka’s post.

Good from Fulham.

19:32, 32

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Dan Burn and Eddie Howe both said before the game that the break will hopefully have done their side good, but we’ve not seen that yet. Murphy’s pass is intercepted in the latest failed attack.

Isak this time runs out of space as Lukic loses the ball in midfield. He tries to go round Rodak but there is no room.

19:28, 28

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Wilson is doing really well on the right and he almost comes to blows with Gordon, who is trying to shove him off the ball in the box.

The Welshman wins a corner nontheless. It’s very deep and cleared easily.

Pereira’s simple pass to Reed goes out for a throw and that pretty much sums this game up so far.

19:22, 22

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

It’s been a pretty even contest so far but it’s really lacking quality.

Muniz goes down as Fulham go direct and Schar trips him. A yellow card for his troubles.

It’s one of them where he’s not exactly tripped his man, but he knew what he was doing.

The free kick comes in, and pretty much goes all the way through. Good cross from Wilson and it’s eventually cleared.

19:18, 18

THE CLOSEST WE’VE COME – Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

A Fulham ball goes into the box this time but it’s cleared by Trippier after a little bit of hesitation.

Oh, that is a great save. Wilson has looked dangerous and feeds a little pass into Muniz, who shoots first time. It’s tame, but heading for the corner, and Dubravka gets the smallest of fingertips to turn it wide.

19:15, 15

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

It’s a bit scrappy so far to be honest, neither goalkeeper tested away from that Murphy effort early on.

Newcastle win a corner with Burn trying to get a cross in but he sees it blocked.

Trippier sticks it in and it’s cleared close to the goal, Rodak getting a hand on it I think.. Gordon then shoots from distance but it’s wide.

19:11, 11

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Fulham are still having the better of things early, with a ball across the field towards Robinson, but it’s a little heavy on this occasion.

The hosts then win a corner but the ball in is cleared.

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

‘Eddie Howe’s barmy army’ can be heard loud and clear from the away end.

Guimaraes loses the ball in his own half but Newcastle break quick through Gordon and then Isak.

A mistake then from Robinson and Murphy is as shocked as anyone to pick the ball up in the box, but Rodak saves simply enough.

Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

Wilson gets the better of Burn on the right as Fulham enjoy some early possession.

Muniz gets the first shot away, with Reed playing it into his feet but the first touch is poor, and the effort worse. High and wide.

KICK OFF – Fulham 0-0 Newcastle

The stadium looks pretty empty. Good on Fulham fans.

Anyway, Jarred Gillett blows the first whistle and gets us underway.

‘I don’t see a problem with freshness’

Newcastle could do with starting fresh in this sort of second half of the season. Eddie Howe agrees.

It has been good, we’ve got some good trianing under our belts and have enjoyed the work. We did a lot right against Manchester City but the ending was difficult.

I don’t see a problem with freshness, it’s the attacking options in the squad. Jacob Murphy has trained well and is really important. We really want to stay in this competition.

Fulham fans protest

Right on cue, ITV have just highlighted the protest from Fulham fans tonight, which focuses around refusing to attend the game due to the pricing of tickets.

The fans there may be enjoying themselves, but with the cheapest adult ticket £40, social media frustration has led to fans not wanting to come to tonight’s match.

We will see how full it gets.

‘A lot of energy and emotion’

Marco Silva isn’t happy with the fixture congestion for Fulham. What can you do, I guess.

The Liverpool gaame took a lot of energy and emotion. We assessed most of the players as normal, we are going to play three games in seven days, which is not normal, and we need to manage the squad.

We took many positiviees from Liverpool apart from the main one, which was the be at Wembley and achieve something the club never did. But it will give us the confidence that we are in the right direction.

Almiron down on Thursday

More from our man on the ground, Craig Hope, on Almiron’s absence.

Didn’t train yesterday after coming down ill on Thursday, Eddie Howe has said.

‘It has been a full reset’

Newcstle are playing their first game in two weeks today. Fulham are playing their first in two days.

One team will benefit. I imagine it could go one of two ways in terms of the rest benefitting, or the rhythm. Dan Burn has been speaking to ITV.

It’s nice to come back, there are a few familair faces. Fulham have been doing really well so we are expecting a tough test but we have had a good amount of trainign now.

It has been a full reset. We got a little bit of rest in which we missed, and it’s been so long getting a full week’s training in. Hopefully that will come out.

‘We’re better against the top sides’

Harrison Reed – who turns 29 today – has been speaking to ITV about the last week and running Liverpool close.

No prizes for guessing what he’s asked for for his borthday.

It was a tough one to take but we can take piositives. We were pushing late on. It’s a positive we can boucne back here at the Cottage, we want a run in the FA Cup too.

The manager brings a lot of beleif to every single one of us. We can be competiitve against any side, we play our best football against the best sides sometimes.

Almiron absent through illness

I don’t have a reason not to trust Newcastle’s official X page, but Miguel Almiron is said to miss tonight’s game through injury.

He’s been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Shabab this window, who are pushing for a £17million deal.

The signs point to Newcastle not accepting it, but we shall see.

Two different approaches

So Fulham rotate, with a change in goal, Tosin benched alongside Palhinha, Willian and Jimenez.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have gone full strenght. They’re still missing players through injury, but, with what they’ve got, they have pretty much named their best side.

I wonder what the thinking is with the two approaches.

Newcastle team to face Fulham

Dubravka, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Longstaff, Guimaraes, Miley, Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

Subs: Karius, Dummett, Ritchie, Krafth, Hall, Livramento, A. Murphy, Parkinson, Hernes.

Fulham team to face Newcastle

Rodak, Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson, Lukic, Reed, Wilson, Pereira, De Cordova-Reid, Muniz.

Subs: Benda, Tosin, Castagne, Palhinha, Francois, Cairney, Willian, Jimenez, Vinicius.

Fulham trotting along

Fulham, meanwhile, are doing alright.

It’s been a bit of a nothing season in the Premier League so far – they sit 13th in the table – but they’ve started playing a little bit better and enjoyed the Carabao Cup run that ended at the hands of Liverpool in the week.

Why not go on the other run in the FA Cup?

So, onto tonight. All is not well at Newcastle, and this game represents a chance for Carabao Cup semi-finalists Fulham to continue their domestic cup joys of the season.

The Magpies are having to fend off interest from Bayern Munich for Kieran Trippier, while Eddie Howe has admitted star midfielder Joelinton may have played his last game for the club because he’s injured and there’s a contract stand-off.

There is no room for manoeuvre in the transfer market due to FFP restrictions, and they’re 10th in the Premier League table.

A lot rides on tonight, really. A trophy could save their season.

Before we get underway with the coverage of tonight’s game, I must point out Maidstone’s success today.

Listen, I’m a Gillingham fan. If you know your Geography, you will know those two teams are just a few streets apart, and we are somewhat rivals. But what a success this has been.

Into the fifth – FIFTH – round of the FA Cup as a sixth-tier side, and surely due a giant draw after beating Ipswich at Portman Road. It’s what dreams are made of.

Click below for a look at their post-match dressing room celebrations, led by manager and former Premier League defender George Elokobi. Congrats to Maidstone.
