New houses are constantly being added to the property market which can make it difficult to make a sale – but perhaps not as difficult as it’s proving to be for a handful of properties in South Yorkshire which have been on the market for over seven years.
The average time to sell a home in the UK from a new home being listed to an offer being accepted is between seven and eight weeks, although this is not including the months after involving conveyancing and exchange of contracts.

On Rightmove, there are currently 6,845 properties for sale in South Yorkshire and with more being added every day, it’s easy to see why some of the older listings may have been forgotten about.
Filtering the results to the oldest added properties, we’ve taken a look at some of the homes in Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield that were added to the site years ago. It’s unclear if the owners changed their mind about the sale, or if the listing was simply never taken down – but the listing still appears on the site as a property that is currently up for sale.
