It is now safe to say that after the NBA Darft Combine, Bronny James has managed to change the perception most people had of him coming in. Those who have followed his high school basketball career are aware that he was talented, but his college career has been short-lived thus far due to the unfortunate cardiac arrest episode he suffered. After only one season at USC with the Trojans, Bronny made the decision to try himself out at the combine and the results were unexpected. Many are already saying that Bronny was one of the NBA Combine’s main attractions but let’s take a look at his numbers and let readers decide for themselves. This will give people a better understanding of what this shooting guard has to offer.
Bronny James’ NBA Darft Combine results
Perhaps one of Bronny James’ most detrimental characteristics is his height, he is a 6’1″ shooting guard with a 6’7″ wingspan. There are only a select few NBa players in history who made it to the league with that height. They have to be exceptional ball handlers and have an unreal max vertical. Bronny had a 40.5″ mav vertical, which was the fourth highest overall at the combine. James was also 19 out of 25 three-point attempts and made 12 shots in a row. Those numbers alone have changed the perception of him as he made this wager with all that pressure on him.
Granted, there are still detractors who will keep crying basketball nepotism but those are mostly LeBron James haters. Plus, there is a narrative that claims Bronny’s father is currently forcing NBA franchises to draft his son. If you take a look at the way in which Brinny conducted himself with reporters, you will instantly realize the kid is centered and well aware of the pressure he will face. So far, there aren’t many complaints about Bronny simply by looking at his combine results. NBA franchises are now scrambling to try and get him during the NBA Draft, they know he will at least be a valuable asset for any team in which he plays. All the signs point at Bronny James potentially being drafted by an NBA team on his own merits. Unexpected, yes. But at the same time, is it really that surprising?
