Whilst the brothers have found incredible fame and wealth on their own, Jake and Logan Paul have disclosed the rather strict parenting style that was adhered to by their father, Greg Paul.
Greg Paul remains a key part of their respective lives, often being seen at events or boxing bouts, but he was very tough on the boys when they were growing up.
“Our parents were really strict and mainly my dad,” Jake Paul explained in the Netflix documentary about his life.
“It was always Logan and I against him.”
This brought an expletive-laden response from his brother, Logan, who doubled-down on the claims that their dad was hard on the pair.
“Holy shi* yo. Greg Paul is a fuc*ing being. He’s a menace. That guy’s intense,” Logan declared.
“Jake may throw around the word ‘abusive’ I prefer ‘not quite legal’.”
Jake Paul doesn’t resent the strict parenting
As part of the documentary, Jake Paul refused to fully criticize the parenting style exhibited by his father, instead electing to show an understanding as to why he did it.
“He would slap the sh*t out of me,” he added.
“I don’t resent it. I’m understanding of why he did that… it’s all he knew.”
These accusations were then answered by Greg Paul as part of the documentary, in which he makes clear he never laid a hand on his children.
“I never laid hands on my kids, and I did tell him I said ‘Jake, I did pick you up and throw you on the couch couple times and he responded ‘Well, I was afraid of you’ I’m like, that’s what the fuc* dads are supposed to do,” Greg explained to Netflix.
“Somebody comes in here, they start harassing everybody and smacking around an old lady… do you want a couple Greg Pauls in the room or do you want some f***ing fairy f***, whiny little bitch who’s gonna sit there and talk about emotions. Who do you want in the room?”
