Jake Paul defeated MMA legend Nate Diaz by unanimous decision, with this win the youtuber left his record inside boxing at seven wins and one loss. Although he has received a lot of criticism, his goal is to be world champion in 2026.
The twitter account Most Valuable Promotions made a list with the rounds that great boxers have fought in their eighth fight, Jake Paul appears there, the youtuber answered that he is on his way to the world title.
“Facts. All great fighters. My path may be different but the destination is going to be the same. World champion by 2026,” he wrote on twitter.
Paul defeated Diaz
Jake Paul (7-1-0, 4 KOs) outclassed Nate Diaz (0-1) who, true to form, showed plenty of durability in defeat.
Paul won the fight with scorecards of 97-92, 98-91 and 98-91.
Despite the animosity present between the two fighters in the run-up to the bout, Paul and Diaz showed respect for each other once the clash was over:
“He’s a tough guy, a real tough guy. That’s what he’s known for.”
“But in this sport, tough isn’t tough enough,” said Paul.
“I’ve sent him to the mat, I’ve won practically every round, but he’s a warrior.”
“I hurt him in round 1, but he kept coming at me. No one can hold on like that taking that much damage.”
“To go 10 rounds in my eighth fight is unheard of!”
Paul reiterated his desire to face Diaz in an MMA fight set up by the PFL.
Diaz didn’t approve, but didn’t reject the proposal either:
“He’s tough and he’s big.”
“I would have liked to have done better, but some things didn’t go my way. It’s all good.”
“He won that fight. That’s good. I’d fight anybody, no matter what.”
