After the hugely successful ‘Prime Card’ which took place in Manchester on Saturday evening, the appetite for more celebrity/YouTube boxing has barely dulled, and Jake Paul’s next venture into the ring is eagerly anticipated.

It has since been announced that the American YouTuber, who has had a number of ‘professional’ bouts, will be back in the ring on December 15, 2023, just before Christmas.

His opponent has yet to be publicly confirmed, although it’s unclear whether behind the scenes the actual identity of the opponent has even been determined.

The announcement came on Monday evening with various Boxing media personnel releasing statements on social media.

“Announcement: Jake Paul’s next fight will take place on Dec 15th, opponent TBC,” wrote Michael Benson, the boxing editor for TalkSPORT, on Twitter.

Who is Jake Paul likely to fight on December 15?

There have been a lot of challenges to Paul after his defeat to Tommy Fury, the only trained professional that the Ohio-based influencer has faced.

It is speculated that Paul will look to kick-start the gravy train of money through his boxing by once again returning to take on an ageing, untrained MMA star in the boxing ring, which at this point is a guaranteed victory given Paul’s natural punching power.

However, there are a number of actual respectable names that are being linked to a fight with Paul in December.

The Paul brothers have shamelessly called out Canelo Alvarez on a number of occasions, and he would have a free calendar on December 15, but that would be a fairly short turnaround from his victory over Jermell Charlo.

There is also the small matter of Canelo having absolutely no respect for YouTuber boxing and having stated as much in previous interviews.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Logan Paul in a fight, yet in the build-up to that bout there was an almighty scrap between the American legend and Jake Paul.

Many are speculating that Mayweather may make his return to the ring and take Jake Paul on in an exhibition, and he too would be free in December.

Finally, if Paul is looking to maximize his value, it could well be the case that he takes on fellow YouTuber, KSI, who lost to Tommy Fury in Manchester on Saturday evening.

One thing we do know is that fans won’t have to wait long to find out who the opponent will be, as that announcement will be made after Serrano-Ramos on Friday, October 27.
