To get there, they took down several of their longtime Eastern Conference rivals. But there’s one in particular that seems to be hated by Boston more than the others: the Miami Heat.

Tatum was prompted to speak about heading to Miami for vacation instead of having to play the tough Heat team. But Tatum answered with bravado.
The Celtics beat the Heat in the first round of this year’s playoffs. But it was just a year ago that the Heat beat Boston in the Conference Finals, which also happened in 2020. The rivalry has been very even in recent times, even though Tatum might not think so.

Later in the day, a billboard popped up in Miami near the beach, which reads “Don’t Stop Disbelieving” with Tatum in the middle of it.
We saw the same type of sign pop up in New York yesterday, as a promotion by Jordan brand, which sponsors Tatum. It’s a clever marketing move, as they’re putting the billboards up in the cities of his fiercest rival teams.
